Rate per loaded mile is what brokers quote. Rate per all miles, after deadhead and your real cost, is what actually pays your bills. This runs entirely in your browser.

The broker's rate is only half the story

A $2.00 per loaded mile rate sounds fine until you count the 150 empty miles to the shipper and your real operating cost. After deadhead and cost, that load might be making you eight cents a mile, or losing money. This calculator shows the truth before you commit.

See typical rate ranges by equipment on the freight rates page, work out your cost per mile, then sign up to score every load automatically against your numbers.

Rate per loaded mile is the rate divided by the miles with freight on, the number a broker quotes. Rate per all miles divides the same revenue by loaded plus deadhead miles, which is what you actually earn once you count the empty drive to the pickup. The second number is the honest one.
